Author: bigcitymama (greece), 20-04-2021 16:49 amusing - Eight a bloody rat chase and even did some "tough" boxes like the one with walking dead but frankly, for dead mans boots?
all spells available + diplomacy you dont need boxes for 2 months game.
but still i had fun!

Thanks for comment - Eight
I am glad you enjoyed map
Author: William (San Diego, USA), 23-11-2013 20:43 Like Correction to earlier comments I've played through the map now with Tan (Stronghold), Purple (Necro), and Teal (Fortress). I honestly have to take back my unbalanced comments for singleplayer because I don't think I'd be able to evaluate this fairly without doing multi.
Playing impossible on all three positions though, my starting position was never threatened. It's a fun map to play still since all 3 positions gave me significantly different playthroughs. I had the hardest time with Teal but it's mostly because I didn't get Town Portal until my 12th town. I ignored most of the seer's huts (especially ones like 21000 walking dead) because the end game didn't get to the point where that was doable.
There was a few spots where you can fly over border gates and land on a powerup to get the goodies behind them but that might be intentional since there are a bunch of special dimension door/water walk type of spots on the map.
update1d rating to reflect fun I had on this map. Combination artifacts are also abundant to piece together.

Side Note
On a side note, Red (Inferno) is incredibly boring and not fun to play. I gave up out of boredom after finally breaking through that spiral. Sure, I can use the gates to get back to the starting town, but then I'd have to travel through that spiral again and... I don't want to.

I was trying to make interesting map for FFA with not common balance. Unfortunately there are not a lot HOMM FFA players.
Author: William (San Diego, USA), 16-11-2013 02:17 Like Fun Map This is a fun map for explorers. Lots to see and play around with. I can definitely see why human players get penalized hard in the beginning. The AI, even on impossible, did not threaten my towns at any point of the game, mostly because they were stuck in 'groundhog day', killing each other repeatedly in some of the 'gold mine' teleport destinations. I played as Tan on Impossible. Looking around I don't think the starting positions are balanced at all but it's still fun to play.
Endgame was 'quick' after acquiring tomes of air and earth on my best two heroes.

Balance
When i was creating map i was trying to balance all players, for humans of course. And when i get enough comments i will continue to balance this map. So i thank you for commen and wait for more.

Balance P.S.
And i want to add. That when i have finished the map i play it with myself for all 8 players to undercover balance limitations. I have made list of more than 30 points and after that i made corrections in a balance.

Great to hear!
Awesome, let me know when it gets update1d. I was waiting to do a few playthroughs with the other positions before making additional comments.
But yes, I tend to play vs AI exclusively and I understand the balance is much better against human opponents. My comments are more weighted towards others who might also play against AI exclusively because they don't know how to adapt to the map design.
