This is an expert map; featuring even starts, big monsters and scarce resources. The keys to victory are: wise selection of battles and managing your steps and resources.
You will not run into each other early (for several months).
The map is adjusted for normal difficulty (initial resource are hard-coded to the map). Instant travel and flight artifacts are disabled.
Author: Georgiy, 17-05-2018 09:20 Perfect map - A Dance For Two Perfect map for late game finish. Finished my friend at heroic level. All monsters can be killed - you just need some of the following magic spells (resurrection, summoning magic, etc.). Liked it very much.
Author: Felix (Europe), 28-06-2016 22:08 Well... maybe a little imbalanced, but entertaining - A Dance For Two First time I played, I started on the left side, playing red, on difficulty level "hard". Two months passed, I started collecting my resources, and before I thought he would, the enemy hero appeared - and stroke me down in my home castle, with 22 arch devils, 170 nightmares, 300 cerberi, and I only had 8 titans and accordingly lower numbers of the lower troops, my hero level 24, his one level 29.
Second time, I played with blue, starting on the right hand side, on difficulty level "normal" - and whadya know: Everything runs a lot nicer, I have plenty of time to explore my territory, sack the artifacts and treasures, and build up my castles. At the end, I had an about 20-40-20-20 level 35 Wyngaal, and crushed my enemy down - his main hero actually had a lot of troops, but I managed to fight the end battle without any losses (!), because my druids, elves, and dragons eliminated quite a good part of the enemy army before any one of them even had its turn - and then he fled.
Is that just the difference between playing 'normal' and 'hard', or is it my increased experience on second playing - or do I sense some missing equilibrium between red and blue here? :-)
The phoenixes ARE hard to get, several times. On youtube.com, there is a video "heroes 5 - phoenixes vs marksmen", or similar. Watch it! I did, and it helped me a lot. The first time, I only took my (hords of) elves, druids, and war dancers. The war dancers did the defense line (and thus were sacrificed), so that the elves and druids could shoot, shoot, shoot. Playing with Wyngaal, the Ring of Celerity, and the Lion Cape, they had their turns quite often. I don't remember my losses exactly - well, 182 war dancers (that would be all of them), that I know. The second time, I only took the druids, elves, and 5 x 1 sprite. I managed to resurrect the elves, thus losing 4 sprites and 6 druids.
Author: Rosh (France), 23-11-2015 13:30 Impossible - A Dance For Two This map is clearly impossible to finish.
Even in cheating ( I edited the map, giving me Graal and stuff), there is :
- One huge stack of Phenix
- One huge stack of Archangel
- On more huge stack of Phenix
You have to beat, if you want to go to the other part of the map in order to beat your ennemy which is fresh of any hard battle :)
Author: Kim Andersson (Kalmar Sweden), 04-09-2015 01:14 To long and passive - A Dance For Two Takes to long to play and like another player said the pheonix stack ruins the game niether me nor my friend wanted to attack it since the one who did it would lose so much troops that the other one would have a great advantage.
Author: Yuri (Yaroslavl, Russia), 05-03-2014 08:26 Like dance for 2 Hello! I like your map a Dance for Two for 5th Heroes very much! Dont you build this map for Heroes 6th? It will be great!
Author: name, 08-10-2008 19:39 Phoenix stack ruins the map The stack of phoenix (located pretty much at the very center of the map, next to a swan lake) is unbeatable with any army.
There are obviously some important artifacts beyond this point, necessaty to game completion (I'm guessing that there are pieces to the dragon suit in the dragon utopia there).
Even the huge enemy generals could be manageable with a dragon suit, but those phoenix, growing at at rate of 44 per week (!!) make that part of the map impassible, and so the map becomes unfinshable.
I'm playing on difficult, only.
Other than this isue, I have no problems with the type of map this is - tough monster stacks, limited resources, etc.
Author: Elit (Bulgaria), 25-01-2007 16:42 Map for experienced plaers only very nice map. I play it with frend few times and test all races. Undet is over power all other is ok.
Author: pendragon (Split, Croatia), 07-10-2006 20:40 trouble with phoenexes awesome map. i especially like the fact that dragon utopias recharge so you can fight them over and over. but i just cant beat the phoenexes north from the swamplands. the army keeps growing. currently there are 4000 of them. unbeatable. ressurecting bastards!!!
also seer's huts have no missions.
Author: Steele2 (Virginia, USA), 01-10-2006 20:36 Wonderful This is the type of map I love. You must slowly build your army, pick your battles and use your resources wisely.
Awesome job.
