In this specific world you cannot upgrade your units. Will you survive without resurrecting Archangels, shooting Titans or invulnerable Black Dragons? Let the old school battle begin...

Played as castle which seems overpowered without upgrades.
Had fun, average difficulty to start then fairly easy as castle with a ton of angels/champions (left in a stables but by the time I found it I was already so powerful it didn't matter).
The cons:
It did feel very repetitive, boat over to new island, take the city, find portals to their other cities, repeat.
They did have some decently powerful heroes so I had to backtrack a lot the first few months. Once I had a powerful second hero it was just a matter of finding all the cities/islands.
Pathfinding/Scouting would have probably saved a couple months.
Banning view air did make that a bit harder.
Finally won on Month 9 week 1 Day 3.
Thanks for the map!
I'd recommend avoiding castle if you want more of a challenge.

diagree - boring map - Return to the Old School
1) A feature ban (creature upgrade in this case) works for both players/computer and as it is stupid, its loss outweighs any difficulties to players.
2) The computer works badly with "system/algorithm" town placement - in this case 3 castles chained with 2 monoliths.
