I thought it was impossible a number of times, and had lots of fights that didn't seem to take me anywhere, but I always found a way to open up new areas. Not sure if there were meant to be lots of things you couldn't access (like a key town) - but I found alternative way to win. The computer players didn't seem to develop much and were more annoying than a challenge so could be made tougher.

Notice weird start but ok.
Notice first obstacles and guards like 10+ azures etc.
Check out starting area - 1 type of mine each, no education objects, creature banks, etc. (1 hydra pond and mines only)
Would use wizard hat to dd to other infernos, cant buy tavern in town, have to wait until get tp with earth magic on other town.
Press end day for months to beat easiest guard.
New area i get to - empty pandora boxes, useless prisons with normal heroes etc.
Doubt settles in.
Check map editor.
Realize map is complete garbage. No thought. No innovation. No execution. It`s unplayable. Unenjoyable.
