The ore Chieftain, Big Boss Bongo, is away on vacation, so now is the time to take advantage of his wool-gathering to launch sneak attacks his fortresses. He has driven gold dragons from his lands but if you find a few they might make for good allies.
Unlimited hero leveling. Neutral creatures grow at faster rates the more you progress.
Difficulty: Impossible (well, really, really hard, anyway). This game is especially designed for those who want challenging battles all the way through. Week of Storm and Week of Plague disabled.

Purple gate and altar - Big Boss Bongo
Here is a screen capture from my Map Editor of the location of the purple altar in relation to the purple seal and gate.

Author: Griffin, 27-05-2016 10:54 good job - Big Boss Bongo great map, I finished at level 42. The only question I want to ask is that is it possibly that I can choose other fraction. It would be really nice if I can do that. But overall, really good map :)

Other Factions - Big Boss Bongo
On this map you can choose only Dungeon to keep with the storyline. I have made another game similar to this one where you can choose your faction. You might enjoy Doppelganger where you can choose whichever faction and develop whichever hero you would like.

Excellent! - Big Boss Bongo
This is a great map indeed. I thought i 'd try it at normal for starters. My experience was somehow different to the others in that i started leveling Sinitar with first maxing Paragon, and quickly wore the +10% xp head artefact and a couple of the Shantiri set for another 10% xp. The difference to what the other people describe is when i reached Bongo's area (it took me around 7 months and 2 weeks), i was a "ridiculous&quo t; 311 level and there were more neutral stacks to kill. At that point i gave up leveling and killed Bongo. 20 more levels wouldn't make a difference. I can't imagine what level i 'll reach if i play the same strategy but with max growth lol.
Anyway just like most ppl say , you are an excellent map maker with also a creative sense of humor lacking from Limbic atm. They should hire you instead if they know their left from right.
Thank you for this and all the other great maps youy 've made.
Wish you the best

Thank you for the kind words. I could handle working at creating more maps for Limbic. I don't think they are listening, though, or they would have worked on fixing the multitude of errors in the Map Editor.

You 're welcome - Big Boss Bongo
You 're welcome my friend. One would think that Limbic learned their lesson when they did the mediocre expansion to Homm6. I expected a great editor and a year after the beta it still crashes and my pc is top class. Imho HOMM7 is more than a step back from 6. I believe 6 was innovative if only somewhat not very balanced. But BlackHole had really nailed a new Homm game. I found the homm6 campaign perhaps the best ever. The way you could play it with any character from each faction or create your own, the epic weapons that earned xp and leveled up giving new unique bonuses, the beautiful battle animations and 3d models... Even the (criticized by some) blood and tears choices added flavor and more selections to how you could play the heroes. Compared to 6's production values, homm7 feels cheap and done by kids. Some campaign maps are complicated just for the sake of being complex without being strategically demanding just "ball busters" ehehe. Anyway, excuse my ranting, if it wasn't for your maps and some others too i'd leave this game and go back to 6 or 5. What i really miss is some custom huge maps for homm 5 made by Mrs.Muzic (if i recall) and/or her husband. Some of their maps could take a real week to finish. Great stuff. Thank you again for your amazing givings
Author: Roy (UK), 14-05-2016 11:58 Solved - Big Boss Bongo Thanks for the advice. Found it no problem when my main issue was not seeing the underground entrance which took me to the next area leading towards the purple portal.
Author: Roy (UK), 11-05-2016 14:58 The Best - Big Boss Bongo Thanks I am enjoying this challenging map so much. This may be silly but after opening up the orange portal I cannot find the purple portal item to break the seal. This I assume I need to move forward. So all I can do now is grow my army and clean out all the neutral armies. Plus its refreshing to have no limit on the heroes level.

Purple Portal - Big Boss Bongo
The altar used to open the purple portal is in the same area as the second purple portal you see. A bit hard to see because of the dark color against the dark background.
Author: Helena (De Meern, The Netherlands), 11-05-2016 10:55 Great! - Big Boss Bongo I managed to beat Bongo on level 82 in 7 months. Indeed a very challenging map where magic must be used in a precise manner.
Easily a 10.

like the comment below Sinitar with his prime magic specialty combine with implosion and coordination with summon element its the way to destroyed them with minimal loss.

Map Update - Big Boss Bongo
You're welcome. An update to my next map, "War of the Elementals," is coming soon.
Author: Alexander (Good old Germany), 05-05-2016 20:43 Big boss is a coward - Big Boss Bongo May be u should disable the tavern in order to avoid that Bongo give his troops to small girls. That would ensure a hard fight at the end of the game.
I have replayed the game with huge growth rates and reached a level of 126.
Best fighting strategy is to use prime magic on highest level with implosion combinded with chaotic magic. So you can kill more than 26000 creatures with on hit. If you want raise your hero to incredible levels, this map makes it possible.
The sauna area is typical barbarian, dungeon chieftains prefer usually more dark places to spend their time with girls.
Again, this map is more than worth to play with other races.

Thank you - Big Boss Bongo
I appreciate all the great comments. Perhaps a random hero level up map is in the future. I was just kind of messing around until the new Map Editor comes out with the Dwarven Campaign update and hopefully resolves some of the major issues with the Map Editor.
Author: Alexander (Good old Germany), 04-05-2016 02:11 Great Job congradulation! - Big Boss Bongo This map is a nice example of substituting AI with a well designed intelligent map.
I didn't finish the map yet, but I killed all generals of Big Boss Bongo and I am going to disturb his sauna fun.
OK, his sauna paradise looks a little bit like an oasis within the desert goby, so what. My spies reveal no information about red fraction.
This map is challenging but your hero can reach a level of more than 76. The map stays stable and there are no bugs while I have played this map.
When I started the game there was no possibility to choose any fraction but dungeon. I started twice this map and there was Sinitar my starting hero.
Thank you very much for this outstanding map! Please continue your work!
It would bi nice if choosing fraction and starting hero would be possible. This map is worth to play several times!

Cannot choose fraction - Big Boss Bongo
It would be very nice if one could choose other fractions instead of dungeon. If you choose an other fraction, only heroes change. The town remains dungeon.
The AI behaves in the last fights very strange. Big Boss Bongo gives all troops ta a weak hero. Due to the huge troops the fight remains hard.

Dungeon Heroes - Big Boss Bongo
That is odd that the AI gave the troops to a weaker hero. I purposefully made all the creature dwellings of the same faction as the main towns to take out the random chance of getting creature dwellings and main towns that you could not use. The "sauna" was to be much more decorated but every time I put water lilies or anything else with it, the Map Editor would crash. So, just a plain old watering hole with some fog for atmosphere had to do the trick. Thank you for your encouragement and support.
Author: Morning Coffee (BAM), 02-05-2016 17:23 o_O - Big Boss Bongo Hey !

Big Boss Bongo - Big Boss Bongo
Well, if you start as Big Boss Bongo then your game will be mighty short because that is the boss you are to fight in the end. And there will be no way for you to explore more than 1/12 of the game since you would be blocked by a one-way gate. The game was to be set as Player 2 as AI only. That must have been lost somehow in the cooking process.

nope - Big Boss Bongo
I start as Player 1. And done all map content. And fight with same Bongo at the end (and kill him easy). I has 7 or 8 castles but didnt evolve them coz my army was strong enough.
I only choice Orc's castle in options at start. But i have shadow castle anyway and Bongo as start hero.

Big Boss Bongo - Big Boss Bongo
You should not have been able to play Big Boss Bongo as Player 1 as I had him excluded in the Heroes options in Map Properties. All I can say is chalk it up to the broken Map Editor again. I have found that I save things and it does not recognize that I have saved it. Pick any other hero and you should have a much more challenging game.
