Hint: In the first 2 or so weeks build creature recruitment buidings and recruit as powerfull army as you can afford. On the 1st day of play you should also get a hero for
exploring and if possible has estates as a specialty.Your hero with the army will then go straight to the enemy taking them by surprise and taking over the
castle. (David Reeves)
Hint: one last one
take 2 or 3 starting heros to pick up chests and hit one time things, they all get the
benefits (not just one) so you can get 3 level 8 or so heros fast...
Hint: place wimps in front of your archers; you can shoot through them but the computer's archery retal and attacks will not, they hit the wimps...
creature generating hero abilities make all the difference on maps where you have money problems, as does nobility (extra creatures produced in citys and money to
buy them)
equip your hero with cheap armor and potions early on to help against tougher wandering monsters
hit tough stacks without a hero to weaken them if you can't win with the hero (more useful if the hero makes armys just by being
there)
Hint: The AI still is fixated on reducing your stacks of cheap units (such as
Pikemen, goblins, centaurs, and so on). Put just enough of these units (60 to
80) in with an army to draw attacks, then go in and attack the enemy's
powerful units while they're distracted.
Hint: The new sharpshooter units are the perfect castle assault troop. Make
sure to cast Armor spells on them immediately, because they will attract the
castle guns.
Hint: Take advantage of the new options and leave guards at all your valuable
mines. This prevents enemies from flooding your territory with weak heroes to steal your
assets.
