I've been thinking it for days and finally, painfully, get it
and the starting six monsters must be killed all, that may be why you're four steps far from castle? You should be only one step from.
The mapmaker herself edited the victory condition to be Day 1 time expire lost.

Yes, I forgot to revisit the oasis after the 6th monster killed, now I am one step far away from dungeon. So I need to gain one step, probably from diagonals, hero without monster, no idea how yet.

I could reach both inferno heroes, but movement stops after last one. I have 10 mana and no idea how to gain 15 more for one dimension door. We can gain a nice bonus movement on starting area by fight/visit again the oasis, but still not enough to reach the dungeon.

4 steps left until dungeon, by using archimage on snow and tedious battle against raiders. Tried to dismiss mage and use lizard on swamp, doesn't help. Tried also some trick with nomad in first slot, no result. Any completed this map?
