Unite Westeros under your rule. Playable are Winterfell, Riverrun, Casterly Rock, Storm's End, Highgarden and Sunspear. Computer controls the Iron Islands, Braavos, Wildings, Stannis and Melisandre on Dragonstone. And, if you survive long enough, the Others and Daenerys Targaryen as well...

* The seas are plundered and full of strong pirates (Iron Men of Pyke)
* There are no dragons or any level 7 units... until Daenerys shows u
* There are peasants and halflings everywhere, your bannermen, and they're actually quite useful sometimes
* The second map is actually “north” – all the gates and whirlpools go from the north of the first map to the south of the second map.
* Jaime starts with -1 knowledge, I think this symbolizes his bad decisions
This is one of the maps I've replayed the most.
* Playing as the Starks is very different from the other houses
* You can go fight the White Walkers in the North, or wait to fight Daenerys
* You can rush the 7 tents and take King's Landing, which is a really novel way to play:
- You can run around with fast scouts trying to hit the tents and fleeing if they get caught
- You can use navigation to land right next to the Wall and grab the tent
- Instead of fighting to conquer and hold, you can fight your way into each holding just long enough to take their tent and then move out.
The only problem with the map is it's too easy -- you can sit and hit Enter in most starts for four solid weeks and you still won't see the white walkers or Daenerys by the time you're winning. Maybe the other version of this map changes that.

Really like the game, but two small things which I think can be better
(1) Danny angel wings, it will be too much for harder difficulties, and on easy mode, once I took her wings, the game lost its fun --- but maybe it IS the point of the game, it will be too hard to defeat everyone on harder difficulty, just try to visit all the color tents and take King Landing
(2) Every new heroes come with some artifacts, with a bit of luck (or save and load trial) you can get various combined artifacts and make the game quite unbalance
Author: Daniel (Danmark), 25-04-2020 16:41 My experience playing the map - A Song of Ice and Fire Had a lot of fun with the map until the fourth month, i decided to play as the Starks (blue) and had a pretty easy time on impossible difficulty, and dealt with the night king without much difficulty, but then Danny showed up and decided to take residence around The Twins, so i knew i had to take care of her, before i could proceed with the rest of Westeros. Here comes the problem: I could probably have killed her and her dragon army in combat, but i never got the opportunity, because she was scared of my main hero and always ran away from me, and because she has angel wings i can't cacth her(and there is no town portal), which means she was just taking al my castles and killing the rest of my heroes, so i could never progress from this point on.
It was really a shame because it is one of the most enjoyable maps up until that point

Author: André (germany), 11-03-2019 22:24 impression of "A Song of Ice and Fire" - A Song of Ice and Fire This is a really fun map. The rendition of Westeros is spot-on, each region feels distinct and true to the books. I especially liked the look of the Reach and the Vale of Arryn.
The custom heroes add to the immersion also. I started with the Tyrells and ended up assembling the whole family. Lady Olenna slowly morphed into a super-powered sorceress which was really cool.
Gameplay-wise the map is all about choosing your battles and not exposing yourself on too many fronts at once. Careful planning pays off.
The secret of the Weirwood Tree was a godsend when Dany showed up!
I think I'm going to replay the map on "Easy" sometime just so I can explore the world without having to worry about enemies.

1) the asymmetry is awesome (e.g. Tullies have several borders, North takes half the map). Haven't pleaded enough to know if it's balanced or not.
2) As the Tullies, I attacked Melisandre. Most battles, I surround my archers for protection. But, I guessed she'd have fire magic (in particular, inferno, the most fiery of fire spells), possibly specializing in it (being the "red priestess", servant of the "fire god", and all). So, I spread out my troops, minimizing the damage. And I won!
3) I'm modding it with different factions (they're almost all castle).
