I'm sorry to hear you had trouble solving the obstacles of the map. I can assure you, there's a way to get out of all the areas of the map. Some are more difficult than others, but you shouldn't get stuck anywhere.

Strange, the previous player said that the map is too easy, while you say it is impossible. I guess you must have waited too long before leaving your starting point. There are several warnings in the story intended to push the player to advance. It's only logical that your enemy will get stronger if you allow him control of all his castles and regions for long. Sorry you couldn't enjoy it!

I chose Necropolis as faction because of the vampires... I just get so many vampires as possible because they are so overpowered! Literally I just cleared the entire map only with my starting hero and the vampires ;-) I also bought a couple of secondary heroes in order to clear faster than ever!

In my opinion the map is quite easy especially after the beginning because your main hero's stats are like 50-50-50-50 whereas the main opponent doesn't have such big primary skills. Also, every battle have been quite cakewalk because nothing will stop the vampire lords... ;-)
As for the improvements, I encountered some mistakes in the map. For example, there were three heroes which I had to defeat on the sand island. However, one of them (the barbarian) vanished because I captured her towns earlier so I couldn't battle against her. I hope I didn't miss a key artifact though. Maybe you should give her a town which is unreachable so she didn't vanish. Also, I'm suspicious with the summon boat thing because it is still possible to be stuck one of the islands because you might not have water magic skill. Therefore, if there are no boats near you for some reason, it is impossible to summon boats. I would add some shipyards just for sure :-)
Oh and one thing mpre. Many landing tiles have only one space to land. It is possible that month of creatures can spawn on them and that's why you can't land there anymore = game possibly over. More landing tiles would help against the odds of the creature spawns.. ;-)

The barbarian hero issue is odd, because in order to get to the barbarian castle you are forced to visit and finish the island with the barbarian hero first (until now, it has always worked this way). Something must have allowed you to get to the barbarian castle before defeating the three heroes...

I made sure your home towns are provided with the summon boat spell, so that if your heroes don't get the town portal spell (there are several ways to get it), you can always use summon boat to get out of any such situation. I update1d the map recently, addressing all the problems that players have found in the past. It's very unlikely to get stuck in any area of the map as it is now. Thanks for playing it!!
love the game. though it's been 2013, i still find heroes 3 fun compared to heroes 4 and 5. simple but challenging. continue making more!

The only way I could get it is to defeat King Marnos, but he's running around the sea attacking all of my towns that can't stand against 3k+ minotaurs, power liches, etc. There should 100% be some sort of mechanism to get your hero out of the middle island.. Seriously.

I'm sorry you couldn't beat it, Wbs. It actually surprises me, because I played it several times, and so did many others, and no one seems to have any problem defeating Thoran. You must have waited a very long time before invading the realm of the elves or minotaurs (depending on which side you chose), that's the only way for the ai to grow to such vast numbers. I made sure that the story remarks that time is of the essence and that it is imperative to conquer the lands of Mandrake or Greenleaf as soon as possible, so that they don't become impossible to defeat. In any case, I'm sorry you didn't like it.

I hope you enjoy it.
I think I managed to fix all the issues that players reported over the years and considerably improved gameplay and ai behavior. I also expanded the story, added several events and new map elements.
Thanks again to all of you. Had it not been for your wonderful feedback, I would never have gone back to the map =)

In fact, they even drove me to go back to the map and correct all the problems that you mentioned. I thought that since it's from RoE nobody was playing it anymore, but since some of you are, it's only right that I fix everything I can to make it more enjoyable. I just corrected that, as well as the problems with summon boat, the pyramid, and some AI bugs (Prince Yago or Angus, for instance, when controlled by the AI, sometimes got stuck at the beginning). If you make a map yourself please let me know! I'd like to play it and test it for you if you like. Thanks again!
Fatquack and Mira: I'm SO sorry for not thinking of that before. You're right, if there's no summon boat in any of the nine cstles that you can reach before heading into the Ramallon sea, you have no way of doing so. It's unlikely that you won't get the spell in one of the 9 castles, but it can happen (I fixed the problem thanks to your comment, I'll let you all know when the updated map is uploaded). I apologize again for not thinking about this before.
