Author: Boennen (Copenhagen, Denmark), 22-08-2024 18:10 Great map. - Magma Just a great map. I played it in Co-op with fortress and it was fun. Hard to craft maps, that don't get boring after 3+ months in game! Good job!
Hopefully more to come.
Author: Mojin (Czech Rep.), 30-07-2024 17:49 Nice start and a bit longer finish - Magma The map, the terrain was cleverly created. The first enemies are strong enough to motivate. Unfortunately, the more distant enemies are no longer a challenge. The second half was a hunt and execution rather than a fight.

Magma is an epic adventure with well tuned difficulty for advanced casual players (I'm sure the "serious" gamer would say it's too easy, but that's their problem). When playing casually and exploring the map, the CPUs can be quite a threat, but they are not too strong to bring you down (unless you are unlucky).
The map is very rich, the number of quests, events, sub-plots, is astonishing. What's also important, at the same time, it is not "too epic" — you won't have armies going beyond thousands of dragons. The armies, enemies, are numerous but do not reach absurd sizes. Your hero won't have "99" in primary statistics. Many other mapmakers aren't concerned about the scale issues, so I can appreciate the effort.
One can see the best ideas from his previous maps further developed, e.g., most critical places can be reached via at least two routes, diminishing the luck factor and making the map less linear. For example: you can approach the final enemy via 3 (4 if you include a sub-route) different routes with other challenges and requirements.
It is also the first map I've played where the airships are so well integrated into the gameplay. Some areas can be reached only via them, but due to the smart design, they do not provide any unhealthy advantage over the other players.
The only thing I don't understand is the time limit. It is quite fair (enough to finish the final boss without stress), but… I don't see the point. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay.
To sum up, another amazing map from my favourite mapmaker! Keep it up! :)
Author: Jeff (United States), 11-07-2024 06:01 Great! - Magma Enjoyable Map. Fun endgame quest/challenges without being too much of a grind.
I never did find the Green or Purple tents. Cheated to see the Horn of the Abyss artifact. That was cool!
Thank you for making it!
Author: Jerome (Canada), 01-07-2024 18:02 Awesome MAP - Magma Wow! Thank you so much! This was a really epic map. Finished it at month 8 with pirate. I hap really lots of fun and challenge. Took me much time to complete it! The map is especially really well made. Congratulations. In almost 30 years of playing heores this is surely in my top 10.
Author: Cove (CH), 30-06-2024 17:11 Good map, but not challenging and monotonous - Magma Hello,
In general, the map is well done.
However, it is quite easy on 200%: getting TP and few 15+ heroes from prisons, jumping around killing AI on tp + blind + bers.
I didnt finish the map, stopped on m2 with biggest army and few strongesе heroes.
Thank you.

So I just finished your map and have to say, it was very nice! Absolutely amazing landscape, engaging quests and just overall top 10 games where you can play with every color. I did not find it very challenging though, I kind of cheesed it. I played as Necro and let's say beginning month 2 I was just running around with Vampire Lords and my Xeron whom I got from the Prison got bunch of Eefreet Sultans and just armageddoned everything. What one could not do, the other one could. So I got through the entire game with just 2 units and 2 heros. I believe if I tried to play with full armies the game would actually be more difficult. The finalka and the road to it was done entirely with just 1 Rust Dragon (which I went to rebuy) for speed and about 400 vampire lords. It did take me 9 months to get to the end fight though, so I just about finished the time limit - which is probably perfectly set for that reason.
Overall amazing map, enjoyed it, could use some nerfs. If I could suggest something, ban heroes with Scholar because I was able to get Town Portal to my main hero very easily which gave me an advantage to hold everything much easier rather than with pre-set crappy hero. Good job!

mistake - Magma
Sorry, second hero was Xyron. I mess those two up frequently. Xeron was released much much later in the game.
Author: Veles (Rzeszów, Poland), 22-06-2024 11:56 Like Opus magnum map - Magma I had a pleasure and opportunity to test the map for a while, before it was released, so here's my thoughts about it.
1. For sure opus magnum (magmum ^^) from BiskupKondard's Studios. Also the best map I have ever played in Heroes 3 - and that's like 20 years :D I am serious. I had (and still have) a planty of fun.
2. Difficulty vs AI can be crushing in some scenarios (played at 200%) Especially if AI opens some prisons eariler than you... (no spoilers) I got pressed into the ground unexpectedly a few times. But that's the fun - motivated me to start over and play better. I noticed that usually the cauldron begins to boil around 3 month. Didn't play much in hotseat yet, but should be even more fun.
3. Map is highly replayable. I completed it 3 times and still didn't explored many secrets. Map is packed with quests, secret areas, event's and Pandora Boxes.
If you want ultimate experience - fasten your seatbelts, go 200% and no save loads ;) Have fun!
