Been dreaming of a {long} adventure?
Come visit the Far-flung Lands!
(Necromantic activity: {Low to Moderate})
-------------
A spell to make a whole ARMY fly? Preposterous!
Town Portal and Dimension Door are possible,
though not within most Mage Guilds.
Author: Dan (United States), 30-09-2024 01:38 Red tent - Far-flung Lands I am playing Teal and I cannot reach the red keymaster tent. I opened up map editor to see if there are others and the only other one is behind a gate that only tan can pass. So the one that is in the starting area of teal, I have not been able to access.

Red tent - Far-flung Lands
Alas, my constant fiddling made the Red Tent for Teal inaccessible. My apologies. Feel free to alter that on your copy of the map. I am gathering up the fllaws and errors and will submit an updated map in the future Thank you for reporting this!
Author: RXD, 20-09-2024 20:45 pretty, innovative but also fairly easy - Far-flung Lands ok so
did you playtest the map with pink? i played pink, got like angel wings from the temple of the sea below main castle and like 200+ ice elementals in week 4? I don`t think thats intended?
after you take like a few towns you can field like 5 armies. Needless to say, with so many spells, miners guild, mob growth and all the places to lvl up skills, map is getting too easy. wtf is the opponent supposed to do when I have like 20 towns? At the end you get close to 60 towns! Impossible for anything to clap you back seriously. I can block for tan most one way portal exits with entire armies. Needless to say, I took with bubbles just an armaggeddon ready army with me.
too many daily events when you have more towns: it`s just hideous to click away 5 extra windows every 3 days.I dont care, that i can recruit some extra lizards from my 3rd fortress town.
Very good looking map, innovative design but too easy in the end. Some flaws but overall its a decent map, good story. I liked it, but in the end it got hideous and repetitive.
Thanks for uploading! Good work!

My thanks! - Far-flung Lands
Thanks for playing the map, and for your constructive criticism!
Agreed, Angel Wings so early for any faction is too early. I had put the Temple of the Sea
there for the watery aspect, forgetting that it is generous with Relic class artifacts.
(I have gotten Angel Wings later in the game and enjoyed the god-like ability at that point.)
For now, I've put a Windmill in place of the TotS.
I will reduce the number of town events, or adjust them to one-time occurrences.
I don't wish the experience to be annoying!
I had actually tweaked Tan downwards, as it was appearing often with overpowering armies quite early.
I will play through a few times and see if Tan can be adjusted to be stronger mid-game.
I welcome more comments and suggestions!
Far-flung Lands walkthrough
Tired of mundane missions to ye olde mini-mart, prosaic pilgrimages to the post office, and everyday expeditions to and fro
your location of labor?
Been dreaming of a long adventure?
Well then, come visit the many exotic locales of the Far-flung Lands!
Are you the wilderness adventuring type? Venture into the Barren Lands, where savage tribes continually war with one another, and Heroes earn respect through conquest.
Travel Tip: Never touch a Barbarian you haven't been introduced to, and never refer to one as "Cupcake."
Seeking the Romantic? Then the blue-pennant pageantry of Schwur is for you.
Watch industrious Peasants toiling to grow food to feed an Empire! Bask in the compassionate glow of devout Clerics, and hurl yourself from the path of shining Knights astride spirited chargers. Explore Schwur's fertile valleys, majestic mountains, and navigable riverways; mayhap you will stumble upon the gate to fabled Excelsior!
Travelor's Advisory: A slight uptick in encounters with the Undead has been reported throughout Schwur.
Looking to warm some tired bones? (~Not talking to you, Necromancer!~)
Soak in the heat and glisten in the humidity of the Jungles of the Southlands. Since the Hivemind has awoken there, efficiency has tripled, urban centers are becoming ever more prosperous, and mosquitoes are hardly a problem at all as the increasing hives of Serpent Flies consume them.
Note: Tourists are under no legal obligation to join the Hivemind. However, the Hivemind can be rather persuasive. And insistent.
Caveat viator!
Are you a lost soul looking for a clue?
Perhaps you hesitated at the edge of the tunnel of light, and . . . poof, lights out?
Maybe you did things in a past life you'd like to forget. You could use a clean slate, as it were.
Try out Redemption Land, a brand-spanking-new entertainment concept funded by the deep-pocketed
and mysterious Eldritch Enterprises, LLC.
Restrictions: Visitors must sign contract on dotted line before journeying to Redemption Land.
Wizard Land remains officially closed to tourists. Wizards don't like other folks meddling in their affairs.
Still, for the intrepid adventurer who can endure hard stares, cold shoulders, and the occasional Magic Arrow, Wizard Land has much to offer. Just don't annoy the Wizards. Just . . . don't.
Uvinoy, the Land of the Elves and forest creatures, is becoming a destination once again!
Centuries of tragic internal strife left much of Uvinoy in ruins, with many refugees scattering throughout the Far-flung Lands. Recent efforts to restore the once-glorious Realm are bearing fruit (be sure to taste the juicy Yavanna peaches), and some towns have even reinstated their evening star- and moonlight celebrations.
Is there a name for a force in nature that takes you to the place you least want to be no matter how hard you wish otherwise? More than coincidence and less than fate? Yes, it's called the Conflux, and it is calling you!
Join the fractal chaos of the elemental dimension, find meaning outside of the constraints of time, scale, and appropriateness. Access underlining patterns of complex systems while losing all ability to recall recent events.
Not for the faint of heart or the paranoid. A truly "organic life" changing experience.
sorcerous small print
There are rumors, just a few mind you, that the Necromancer might
have returned. Be advised that death in the Far-flung Lands
may result in Undeath.
Attempts have been made to slow players' initial growth. Compensatory benefits come through timed events.
Mapmaker comments:
Some enemies may harass players early.
Heroes with large armies will be possible as creature dwellings on the map experience cumulative growth.
Computer will take several minutes to complete its turns starting in the 3rd month.
Some places make use of audio, in a minimal way. Try having Effects volume on, Music off, for the first few days of Purple or Orange's adventures.
Even if you can't win, surrendering to a powerful enemy is a viable strategy. Heroes are often faction-specific, and will turn up in a Tavern.
Plague happens. It prevents overpopulation and helps us see the value in our finite existences.
Think of it as yet another machination of the Necromancer.
