you should have almost no losses in all your fights..from what you wrote it sound like you already had some..
you dont need to fight dark demon immediatelly.. there is a secret path behind one of the windmills. there is a lot to explore behind that

There are lots of quests, but they are mostly not bound to one another. TP is pure luck. A computer is weak. On the bright side - there is nice terrain and some strong artifacts and spells.
